Housing
Housing
Armed Forces Community HQ can provide targeted support for finding suitable affordable accommodation. This includes access to our small range of properties, and working with the Local Authorities to advocate for social housing where relevant.
AFCHQ provides support for those at risk of homelessness, and each individual will be subject to a suitability assessment and background checks. As part of the housing offer, we provide wrap-around support including finances, welfare, mental health and wellbeing. We aim to ensure all service users are able to live independently following our intervention and guidance.
Demand for social housing is extremely high, and we do our best to work with local providers to find suitable long-term accommodation. AFCHQ is currently in the process of working with Wigan Council’s Empty Homes scheme to identify properties which can be repurposed to house our Armed Forces community in quality homes.
If you would like further information on housing, please contact us here. If you are at immediate risk of homelessness, please contact your Local Authority or make a referral to Op FORTITUDE, the new dedicated central pathway for veterans experiencing homelessness.
