Through our trauma-informed *Homes at Ease* service — delivered in partnership with local authorities and funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust — we’re helping more people get a key to their own front door while offering wraparound support tailored to individual needs.
What is Homes at Ease?
Homes at Ease is a trauma-informed, veteran-led initiative based on the Housing First model. It prioritises housing stability as the first step towards recovery, independence, and wellbeing. Through this service, we offer:
- Direct access to supported, social and private housing
- Personalised tenancy and wellbeing support
- Local Visiting Support Officers for one-to-one help
- Peer mentoring and community integration
- Mental health and substance misuse support where needed
With this model, tenants are not just housed — they’re supported, empowered, and given the tools to thrive.

Got a question?
Do I need to be homeless to receive housing support from AFCHQ?
No. We assist anyone from the Armed Forces community who needs help with their housing — whether you’re currently homeless, at risk, or seeking more suitable living arrangements.
Can I live in an AFCHQ property?
We manage a small number of properties which are offered based on need and availability. We will also help you access other housing through our partners if our stock isn’t suitable.
Will you help with social housing applications?
Yes. Our team can guide you through the application process, complete paperwork, and advocate on your behalf with housing officers or council services.
Is your support only for veterans?
No. Our services are available to all members of the Armed Forces community — including serving personnel, reservists, veterans, families, and carers.
What if I need help beyond housing?
We offer wraparound, holistic support including wellbeing, mental health, employment, benefits advice, and more. Housing is just the start.
