How We Can Help

We work alongside trusted partners and official agencies to ensure you get the support you’re entitled to. Our Welfare & Debt team can help with:

  • Understanding and applying for welfare benefits, including PIP, Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and Armed Forces-specific support
  • Liaising with Local Authorities, DWP, Veterans UK, and other services on your behalf
  • Advocacy for appeals, form-filling, and case reviews
  • Accessing emergency financial support in a crisis
  • Referrals to qualified debt advisors and financial specialists
  • Help understanding your rights and options if you’re in debt

Whatever you’re facing, there is help available — and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Cost of Living Grants – Royal British Legion

The rising cost of living can leave many feeling helpless, but support is available. The Royal British Legion is currently offering grants of up to £1,200 to help with energy costs. You don’t have to be in receipt of benefits to apply, and the grant can provide up to £200 per month for six months.

We’re happy to help you apply or point you in the right direction. More information is available here, or you can call RBL directly on 0808 802 8080 for personal guidance through the process.

Emergency Food Support

While AFCHQ does not directly provide food parcels, we work closely with a network of trusted local partners and foodbanks to ensure that no one goes hungry. If you are struggling to access food, please reach out, we will do everything we can to help you get the support you need, quickly and sensitively.
